Members Not Showing Up for a Booked Competition Tee Time
Posted on: 5 November
Dear Members,
There is an alarming increase in the number of players not showing up for their booked tee time or cancelling too late to fill that position. This behaviour is concerning, and is impacting both on a member’s opportunity to play and upon the Club’s revenue.
As members would be aware, an automated email is sent to players as a reminder that they are booked into play – this email is sent 2 days prior to scheduled tee time.
A member whose name is recorded on a competition starting sheet is required to report promptly to the Pro Shop at least 15 minutes prior to their allocated tee time and be ready to tee off at the allotted time.
To ensure an equitable system for all members, the Club is introducing a formal “No Show” policy, and in doing so, has considered the approach of several other similar Clubs.
Commencing Saturday, 16th November, a member who fails to cancel their booking or notify the Club that they will not be playing by 6.00pm on the day prior to a booked tee time will be deemed a “No Show” for the following day. Notification is to be by phone in the first instance, but if the Pro Shop phone is unanswered then email notification to proshop@chcc.com.au by 6.00pm will be accepted.
The online timesheet will be closed from 6pm on the day prior to a booked tee time. The online timesheet will become “Read Only” after this time and members will not have access to amend the booking sheet.
Should a member record a “No Show” the member’s playing rights shall be suspended for 7 days commencing the day following the No Show.
A member may choose to pay the competition fee for the day they were a No Show. Upon receiving this payment, this one-week suspension would be lifted.
If a member continues to offend, they may be subject to Disciplinary Proceedings in accordance with the Constitution.
Notwithstanding the above, due consideration will be extended to a member who is unable to play due to extenuating circumstances, providing the member rings the Pro Shop on the day and explains those circumstances.
